Motor City Mapping

Description

Motor City Mapping was a ground-breaking collaborative effort launched in December 2013, involving partners from the nonprofit sector, the private sector, and every level of government. The purpose of the project was two-fold: 1) Collect better and more up to date data on properties in Detroit that could define the scope and challenge of blight, informing a comprehensive blight elimination plan authored by the Detroit Blight Removal Task Force; and 2) Create a dialogue about property and engage people in the process of generating a living dataset. As the project continues, partners will continue to look for ways to make more and better information available to the public to drive informed decision-making on all levels.
