How to Use This Tool
There are two ways to access data related to Turning the Corner.
The first is an interactive map and the second is an Excel data tool.
1.Interactive Map: Start from arcg.is/0bD5f1
- Scroll through the Local Analytical Findings to learn more about the research
process and data included in the indices. - To see detailed information about the different blocks, scroll to the bottom or click “Explore the Index” in the upper right corner to access the interactive map.

Click on your block of interest and scroll through the popup to see more information.
If you’re interested in an easier format for understanding the data of a single block, identify the block ID and access the Data Explorer described below:
2. Turning the Corner Data Explorer:
Start by downloading the Data Driven Detroit Turning the Corner Data Explorer excel file.
- Open the excel file to access the tool.
- From the spreadsheet, enter in the Block ID of interest and the Excel sheet will produce a single sheet of data, showing how the block rates on each index as well as the underlying data that was integrated into the index.
